Each April, Blithewold opens its gates to welcome visitors as springtime begins. The season unfurls with the well-known daffodil display, covering this 33-acre seaside estate with over 50,000 daffodils that delight visitors for nearly a month.

Special dam-controlled high water releases on Maine’s most continuous whitewater offer Class IV excitement. The Dead River builds throughout the day in rapids such as Humpty Dumpty, Elephant Rock and Spruce Ledges, culminating in the longest rapid in the Northeast, “Poplar Hill Falls.” Release dates in May 2018 are May 12, 19, 27 and June 2 and 9. WaterFire is a highly unique public art experience that has attracted tens of thousands of visitors to Rhode Island’s creative capital city of Providence. The event is based on an original artistic installation of bonfires lit on the three waterways passing through downtown Providence. On select Saturday evenings throughout the year, WaterFire creates a magical artistic event celebrating earth, air, fire and water.
