Wherever you go in New England, Welcome Centers provide visitor information, from traffic news to what to see and do. Most are open only in summer but some are open year round.

  • Darien: In the Darien McDonald’s Restaurant Plaza on I-95 northbound between exits 12 and 13.   Open 24 hours, year-round.
  • North Stonington: On I-95 southbound between exits 93 and 92. Open 24 hours, year-round.
  • Westbrook: On I-95 northbound between exits 65 and 66.
  • West Willington: On I-84 westbound, between exits 70 and 69. Open 24 hours, year-round.

VERMONT

Vermont’s official welcome centers should be your first stop once you enter the Green Mountain State. They are staffed with friendly Vermonters who will assist with reservations, travel information, and directions to help make your visit to Vermont all the more enjoyable. Displays at the centers reveal the surprising range of Vermont-made products, recreational, cultural, agricultural, and natural attractions available in every region of Vermont.

  • Capitol Region Visitor Center, 134 State St., Montpelier, Summer Mon- Friday 6:30am- 5pm, weekends 9-5pm; Winter Monday – Friday 6:30am – 5pm, weekends are 8am – 4pm
  • Derby Line Welcome Center, I-91 S, 7 am-7 pm
  • Fair Haven Welcome Center, Rte. 4A New York Border, 7 am-7 pm
  • Guilford Welcome Center, I-91 Massachusetts Border, open 24 hours, daily (only basic facilities 11 pm-7 am)
  • Hartford South Information Center, I-89, 7 am-7 pm **Hartford South Information Center will be closed for re-construction from May 1, 2011 – June 30, 2012
