BANKS
Banks are usually open during office hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Few open on Saturdays. The ATMs at banks are open 24 hours. Cash US dollar travelers’ checks in banks, or use them like cash in stores and restaurants.

BARS, PUBS AND TAVERNS
New England has many authentic pubs and lively bars, in the city and country. Claiming to be the oldest pub in the USA is the White Horse Tavern in Newport, Rhode Island, dating back to 1673. The legal age to drink alcohol is 21, and ID is required.

BOAT TOURS
New England is famed for its seacoast and for its lakes. On a boat tour, you can relax and enjoy the views. Some boat tours are listed here, but look also at Ferries.

BUS AND COACH LINES
New England is well served by regular bus and coach lines such as Bonanza, Greyhound and Peter Pan.
